Home for the Holidays

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! I am so excited to share a small tour of our home decorated for Christmas. I say “small” because we have decided to put out a lot less decorations this year because Poppy is on the move and into everything. I didn’t want to spend the entire Christmas season getting on to her for getting into things. So, we went with simplicity this year and I am actually loving it!

I wanted to get the girls really fun paper this year that I knew they would really be thrilled to see and Target killed it this season! I got a lot of messages on my Instagram stories about the shark paper when I posted it – I was so surprised (and found it quite humorous) by how many people apparently love sharks like my six year old does! Target, people! Their paper is amazing this year!!

I love checking the mail this time of year and receiving everyone’s Christmas cards. I hang all our cards up with some thin rope and clothespins. I even saw some already together and painted all festively at Target in the dollar section!

I am an absolute sucker for pom garland. I especially love the two I have pictured because the colors are pure perfection! You can shop our mantle garland HERE and the garland at the bar cart HERE.

The wreaths in our kitchen are one of the most common things I get asked about. These are the mini boxwood wreaths from Target and I just hot glued red ribbon to them and hung them from the inside of our cabinets. I also have several of my grandmother’s ceramic pieces that she made displayed throughout of the house, but that green cookie tray in the kitchen is one of my favorite things and we love to leave our cookies for Santa on it. If you need some easy recipes, check out my previous post!

This vintage tree is another thing that I adore in our house. It was Willa’s grandfather’s when he was a child. I found these mini antique ornaments and they make me love this tree even more!

An advent calendar is a must for us! Willa enjoys it so much. I put a hershey kiss in each bag, and in a few of the bags, I add a printed note with something fun to do like: make gingerbread slime, go look at Christmas lights, make ornaments, etc. I can’t wait until Poppy is old enough to appreciate the advent calendar like Willa does!

I hope you enjoyed getting a little tour of our home this Christmas. We are so looking forward to a magical and memorable holiday!
